Message From the Principal: Dr. Bradley
Greetings, Pfaff Families,
Thank you for taking the time to read our PEP Rally newsletter. The goal of this newsletter is to provide you with information and resources that families may find valuable in supporting their children. Please enjoy!
Many thanks to the Pfaff teachers and staff as they have been doing an awesome job of managing our shortages. We are still looking to fill a (4 hour) part-time general aide position. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by clicking on the link.
As you know, we are always FOCUSED ON SAFETY at Pfaff, so I am hopeful that you will share some safety reminders with your child(ren):
- Please keep children home when they have symptoms of illness. Please help us keep everyone safe by going through the screening questionnaire to check on the days your child or children travel to school. It aligns with the goals of the district’s Health and Safety Plan to safely monitor student and staff health. If your child has tested positive for COVID, our nursing staff has developed an online form for you. We’re hoping that having this option available makes it easier for you to communicate positive results to our nurses. Please click here for that form.
- Although the weather has been mild, please dress your child in warm clothing and closed toe shoes and sneakers in cooler temperatures.
- We have noticed that a lot of students are lashing out physically toward one another. Please encourage your child to keep their hands and feet to themselves and tell an adult before striking someone else. Adults are ready and available to assist students and facilitate conflicts.
- We will continue to promote positive attitudes about diversity at Pfaff by helping students understand and process how the many similarities and differences amongst us make our school beautiful as a whole. Please encourage friendliness, kindness and compassion.
- Please keep in mind that all activities that involve physically touching one another will be discouraged at recess. Personal toys should not be brought to school for play as we have recess equipment available to students.
- Practice bus safety and comply with the bus rules accordingly.
We look forward to your partnership during Parent Teacher Conferences on 10/28, 11/1, and 11/10. Please be sure to review these helpful tips.
Finally, a special shout out to our awesome PTO for all the awesome things they do for our school and community. If you didn't make it out to our Fall Fun Fest at Windy Springs Farm last week, you surely missed a great time. Tonight we host our first Trunk or Treat, and it's going to be awesome!!!
Your partner in education,
Dr. Orathia Bradley
Pfaff Proud Principal

SHOP WITH A COP!
The Quakertown Police Shop with a Cop Application opens on Monday, October 11th. Shop with a Cop is a national event pairing police officers with children to afford them a better Christmas. The program allows children to view officers in a different atmosphere to promote positive relationships. The children are faced with life challenges such as a parent losing a job, homelessness, foster care, economic shortcomings, and other hardships.
Each child has the opportunity to shop with an officer and purchase $150.00 in gifts for themselves and/or their family members. Parents also receive $100.00 store credit to purchase food, household items, or gifts for their kids. Children are also given a school backpack full of essential items, and dinner the night of the event. In 2020 we hosted 180 children, and provided over $47,500.00 to families.

Bus Reminder!
If your child rides the bus, I am asking you to review bus safety procedures. Masks are required while riding the bus and assigned seats are to be stayed in at all times. This presents a significant health and safety issue if/when we need to conduct contact tracing. Seating charts must be accurate for effective contact tracing to occur.
