Progress Reports
THANK YOU, PARENTS!!!
What a great turn out at Open House on Wednesday night! It was so nice to meet several new families and of course see many of our returning parents!
We enjoyed having the opportunity to share the learning that goes on in the classroom. We hope that it was informative for you! Thank you for finding time in your busy schedules to attend this event. The support and involvement of families is greatly appreciated by our staffulty and it’s the number one thing parents can do for their children’s education – even in high school!!
PARENTS:
We need your help! Last year, we put out the call for gift cards and any other donations that we could use for our Renaissance Rewards program for our kids! We had such an amazing response that we are going to do it again! We are inviting any and all who are able to donate gift cards or any other promotional items that our Tigers would like. Please drop them off with Ms. K (our receptionist)!
Thanks for helping us make Travis the BEST high school in the LAND!!!
Is Your Student Taking A Foreign Language?
The PULSE - Student Recognition
We are proud to partner with Jostens National Renaissance. The goal of renaissance is to see meaningful RESULTS on our campus through respect, recognition, reward and reinforcement. It is our hope to positively affect the climate and culture of Travis high school, serving and celebrating students and staffulty. We are very fortunate to work with Josten’s whose mission is: Capture. Celebrate. Inspire. This week we will administer Josten’s The Pulse – Student Recognition Questionnaire during Advisory on Thursday.
Why are we doing this? We want to celebrate our students. All people – including students – need to know that they matter. Thus, recognition in all its forms can contribute to students believing that they matter—that they are important to others. This tool will allow our school to better understand if our students believe they are receiving recognition, formal and informal – which may in turn motivate them to do better academically, have better attendance, be caring and supportive classmates, and strive to be upstanding citizens. Having a better understanding of whether current recognition practices are hitting the mark with our students will allow us to adjust as needed to create the most supportive environment for students as possible. Our Ambush mentors, Student Council, Student Leadership Council, and Campus Based Leadership Team will all be working together to help us with adjustments for students and staffulty!
It’s important to know that there is no way answers can be tracked back to the person taking the questionnaire. Jostens tabulate all results and those taking the questionnaire will not be asked any information that would identify who they are.
We would also like YOU as parents to help us! If possible, please take this ten-minute questionnaire to help us understand and identify ways we can recognize and celebrate our students. We thank you in advance as we continue to work together to make Travis even better!

Are you the parent of a STUDENT-ATHLETE? READ BELOW about the NCAA Registration Process!
The kick off of a new school year is a great time for students to start the initial-eligibility process by registering with the Eligibility Center.
Two different accounts are available when a student registers at eligibilitycenter.org. Below are detailed instructions for completing both types of accounts.
Certification Account
A student-athlete must be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center to compete at an NCAA Division I or II school. A student must also be registered with a Certification Account before they can make official visits to a school or sign a National Letter of Intent in Division I or II. The registration fee is $90 for domestic students and $150 for international students. Registration typically takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Profile Page
If a student-athlete is currently unsure which division they want to compete in or plan to compete at a Division III school, they should create a Profile Page. Creating a Profile Page is free and easy. Students should expect 15 to 30 minutes to complete a Profile Page. If at any time the student wishes to play at the Division I or II level, they can transition to a Certification Account and pay the registration fee to begin the certification process.
Please encourage your student-athletes that want to play college sports to complete their NCAA registration at eligibilitycenter.org. Students can find more information and resources about registering on our How to Register page.
The goal of our daily Advisory is to help students figure out who they are, where they’re headed, and how they’re going to get there. Through an advisory system, each student has an adult on campus who knows them and helps them navigate high school so that they leave with a meaningful, personalized plan and are prepared for post-secondary options.
This week, we will be tackling the following topics during our Advisory period:
- What is leadership? (Intro. to "Habituesdays")
- Continued discussions on leadership
- Jostens "The Pulse" Student Recognition Questionnaire
