There is a website by the David Lynch Foundation that is working with urban schools all over the country with this program and getting startling results by instituting two 10 minute quiet time periods a day.

Groundbreaking research on schools with a Quiet Time program has found:
-10% improvement in test scores—and a narrowing of the achievement gap
-Highly effective for increasing creativity
-Improved teacher retention and reduced teacher burnout
-Greater happiness, focus and self-confidence
-Reduced ADHD symptoms and symptoms of other learning disorders
-86% reduction in suspensions over two years
-40% reduction in psychological distress, including stress, anxiety and depression
-65% decrease in violent conflict over two years
“The Quiet Time Program is the most powerful, effective program I’ve come across in my 40 years as a public school educator. It is nourishing these children and providing them an immensely valuable tool for life. It is saving lives.”
—James S. Dierke, Executive Vice President, American Federation of School Administrators
Bring Your Baby Pictures!
The Beautification Committee has decided to hold a contest during the week of February 9-13. We want your baby pictures to post in the lounge for everyone to guess.
If you have the ability to bring a baby photo of yourself before Feb 4th, that would be awesome!
Of course, there is no pressure to bring a photo, and you can still participate in the contest even if you didn't bring a photo.
But as always the more participation, the better!
Thanks in advance, from your friendly neighborhood Beautification Committee!
Happy Birthday!
