Tutoring
As a way to support our students who might need to catch up on work to earn class credits, we will be providing free after school tutoring with Godwin teachers.
Tutoring will take place:
Mondays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:15pm starting March 11, 2021 until the end of the school year (for both in person and virtual learners)
If you would like to enroll your child or if you have any questions, please contact bobbijo.kenyon@godwinschools.org or katie.hoffman@godwinschools.org
The Den
The students, along with their teachers, have designed an expectation grid we call PRIDE. It stands for perseverance, respect, integrity, discipline and engaged. Throughout the year the students are challenged in specific areas and given rewards for meeting those PRIDE expectations. The focus is to model the behavior to the students and support them to excel in things such as attendance, choice of words, follow through and other behaviorsthat they will need in their future.
The Den uses all proceeds/donations to fund our P.B.I.S. program. Thank you for your help in making our program a success!
Youth Employment Initative
UFP Industries is currently in the process of recruiting future business leaders to take advantage of a great (no cost) EARN & LEARN career opportunity.
Our two-year program was created to provide an innovative approach to traditional education, which usually requires a four-year commitment and a substantial cost. The program is underwritten by a full UFP scholarship that provides students with a competitive college-level business education and future career opportunities. We are currently recruiting students to begin (online) Fall 2021. The program is open to all ages. Applicants only need a high school diploma or GED equivalency to apply.
UFP company video: https://vimeo.com/441379347.
The UFP Business Degree Program offers:
- 100% full scholarship that covers all expenses – including a laptop and textbooks – (zero cost)
- The ability to learn virtually from expert instructors who are also UFP employees
- The opportunity to work and learn at the same time
- Networking with students & employees from across the company
- Chance for future career opportunities in competitive areas
Please, let me know if you have any questions about the program or the application process. If needed, we can set up a phone call or a TEAMS/Zoom meeting to discuss our program’s benefits.

Ten For all festival
Live performance is BACK at Civic Theatre! We are thrilled to return to our stage for in-person performances for the first time in over a year! The Ten For All festival is a showcase of ten-minute plays written by local playwrights and performed by local actors. Written by all, performed by all, scored by all. More information: grct.org/tenforall.
Civic Theatre received 50 submissions from playwrights all over West Michigan. From those submissions, 3 finalists in each category (Drama, Wildcard, Youth, and Comedy) were selected based on blind scoring by local theatre enthusiasts and Civic Theatre staff. Those 12 semifinalists were then read on Zoom and scored by theatre and media professionals (more information below).
Now, the following SIX finalist plays will be performed back-to-back on Civic's stage in April. Of those six, audience members will vote for the coveted award of AUDIENCE CHOICE, which will be awarded to one play. We're thrilled to announce our finalists:
