Was it just?
Hammurabi's code was a long list of rules based on the well known saying, "An eye for an eye." "Was it just?" some people wonder. Ans my answer is no. His laws on his subject's social class. If a slave hi his master, he would get a more harsh punishment that a son of a wealthy man hit his father. I believe in fairness for all people. Now a days, owning other humans is illegal, but then they thought nothing of it. So I can see how a slave would get beaten, but it's slaves who do all the work, and yet, they were treated worse than anone else. USe connon sense. Is that really fair?
