October 31, 2021
Hello Conroe Tiger Families,
We would like to congratulate all of the success that our fall sports and activities have experienced! We appreciate our students’ commitment to excellence. They could not have been successful without your support at home. Thank you to all of our coaches and sponsors that have led our students. As we transition into our winter activities, we can not wait to see the success you will earn. Here are a few updates and reminders:
Picture Retakes - Main campus: Wednesday, Nov. 3 (all day)
CHS 9: Thursday, Nov. 4 (am only)
Block Days - Our next round of block days will be November 9th and 10th. Our students taking English 1, Algebra 1 and English 2 will be taking their first interim assessments during their class periods. These tests were formerly known as “Benchmark Assessments”.
SALUTE TO VETERANS - Conroe ISD will hold its annual Salute to Our Veterans program on Thursday, November 11th, at 10 a.m. at Woodforest Bank Stadium. This patriotic event is open to the public and features students from JROTC units across the District. Message from our PTO - On November 16th the PTO will be hosting a Fall Fiesta Luncheon for our teachers and staff at the Main Campus and on November 17th at the 9th Grade Campus. The PTO will provide the meat, but we need parents to bring the sides, drinks, and door prizes. Sign Up Here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0545aaac28a6fd0-fall
Communities in Schools - As we get closer to the Holiday season, please know that we have programs on both campuses that can provide assistance to those in need. We have a program at our campuses called Communities in Schools (C.I.S.). Communities in Schools offers great resources for our families. If you are interested in learning more about the program and how it could benefit your student or family, then please read the document below. To participate, a Parent Consent form needs to be submitted to the campus based C.I.S. representative. On the Main Campus the CIS Representative is Marcus Primer and on the Ninth Grade Campus, that representative is Ellen Leder.
Seniors and Parents/Guardians of Seniors - There is a new graduation requirement you must complete in order for you to graduate this school year. Seniors must complete one of the following:
- Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); OR
- Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA); OR
- Complete and submit a signed opt-out form provided by the school district.
Click here to read more about this graduation requirement, as well as information about how you can complete this new requirement.
Student Safety - Our number one priority is to keep our students safe at Conroe High School. Please parents, remind your children they are not allowed to leave campus for lunch. If your child walks to school, please remind them to use the cross- walk at a light. If your child is a car rider, please drop them off and pick them up in the car rider line, not HWY 105 or area businesses.
Vape Detectors - Be advised, campus restrooms are equipped with vape detectors. Students caught in possession of a vape device or under the influence may face severe disciplinary consequences, which may include, ISS/OSS, DAEP and/or expulsion to JJAEP pending an investigation. Please discuss the danger and consequences of vaping with your child.
(*Liquid THC is considered a felony controlled substance . Students caught with a vape device that tests positive for THC could receive a state felony charge, be arrested on campus, and face mandatory expulsion.)
Covid-19 - This is a reminder that parents are encouraged to self-report Covid 19 positive cases. The process for self-reporting can be found here: https://www.conroeisd.net/roadmap-to-reopening/covid-19-positive-self-report/

Important Information For Freshmen
CHS9 Tutorial Information :
We have teachers that remain after school until 3:30 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please communicate with your teacher if you would like to remain for extra assistance as you will need a pass from your teacher to remain after school. Students remaining for tutorials will be escorted by their teacher to the front of the building to be picked up at 3:30. Should you need your student to ride a late bus, then you will need to register your student for late transportation. The student will remain in the library supervised until 4:45 and then escorted to the late buses on campus.
CHS9 Car Riders:
If you bring your student to school by vehicle, then please remember that the traffic loop in front of the Ninth Grade Campus contains two lanes. Vehicles can utilize the inside lane (left lane) to help alleviate traffic. When our duty personnel see students getting out of the vehicle from the left lane, we will stop traffic in the right lane allowing your student to cross safely. Please remind your student to check traffic before getting out of the vehicle. Parents, please continue to drive slowly and safely in the student drop-off area. We appreciate your attention to safety and patience every day.
