As the winter holidays approach, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude and well wishes to all of you.


To our students and staff: thank you for your hard work and commitment to WHHS. Your support for our school community is greatly appreciated. We are grateful for the partnership we have with you in their education and growth. We hope that you have a wonderful holiday season filled with joy and celebration and that you have the opportunity to relax and recharge during the holiday season.

Final Exam Schedule This Week

Please take a careful look at our Finals Schdule for this week and our last week of the Fall Semester (hard to believe this is here so quickly!)


Monday 12/19 is the first day of final exams. (Periods 1/7 and 4)

Tuesday 12/20 its the second day of final exams. (Periods 3 and 5)

Wednesday 12/21 is the third and last day of final exams. (Periods 2 and 6)

Thursday 12/22 is a faculty workday. No students are on campus.


Final Exams Tuesday, Wednesday:

Please note all traffic and parking will be affected since our finals schedule is different than our regular day schedule.


Students may attend campus on periods when they do not have a class period and check in at our Study Halls (see main office for locations).


NOTE the end time each day is 12:46 p.m. If a student needs to leave early, as always, bring a note from parent to Attendance in the morning and get a pass to leave campus. DO NOT TEXT PARENT AND JUST LEAVE CAMPUS. YOU WILL BE MARKED TRUANT. This is true every school day, not just Finals week.

WHHS IS CLOSED 12/23/22 - 1/6/23

West Hills is closed to the public each day December 23-January 6 for Winter Break. There will be no in person services December 23-January 6. We will reopen on January 9 at 8am.

Need a work permit during Winter Break?

As we wrap up the first semester and are getting ready for a well-deserved Winter Break, here are a few reminders for Work Permits:



  • The work permit process is the same and all labor laws must be followed, no exceptions for the holidays!
  • If you need a work permit to work during Winter Break, plan to have any paperwork to West Hills no later than Tuesday, 12/20 to be able to process it and have it ready for pick up by Wednesday 12/21.
  • Staff will NOT will be available to process work permits during the Winter Break (including the district office)
  • Please get your work permit applications turned in early so we can process them before the break.

START SMART DATES SET FOR 2023



Any student wanting to park on campus (this includes Seniors who want to purchase a parking spot) needs to show proof of attending one "Start Smart" class with a parent. This course needs to be completed ONCE in high school.


West Hills has set up three additional Start Smart sessions for this school year in our theater:


  • January 11, 2023 from 6:00-8:00PM

  • February 28, 2023 from 6:00-8:00PM

  • April 27, 2023 from 6:00-8:00PM

Student Internship Opportunities

Interested in an internship opportunity? Interns learn about the complex issues facing local government leaders, and they develop the skills necessary for representing elected officials in the community, including networking, public speaking, and constituent service. Arts & Culture Commission

The County of San Diego is seeking youth ages 16-24 to join the San Diego County Arts and Culture Commission which works on topics such as finding ways the county can directly support the arts in school programs, considering the use of county spaces as workplaces for local artists, and increasing accessibility to the arts in all communities throughout the county. To apply, students should complete this application, and write “Arts & Culture Commission - Youth” in the section asking for “Name of Board, Committee or Commission to Which you are Applying for Membership.” Interested students can contact Giang Meyers at giang.meyers@sdcounty.ca.gov with any questions.

Frozen in Time

❄️This past Friday, WHHS held its Winter Formal “Frozen in Time.” We had over 600 students attend the event. Shout out to the Class of 2024 officers, Mrs. Edwards, and Mrs. Reid for all the hard work to make sure we had an awesome event!

West Hills Guitar Students

West Hills guitar students performed and shared their love and passion for Guitar to students at Carlton Hills. They had (2) 20 minute performances to fifth and six graders and then one for seventh and eighth graders. After the performances, West Hills students went out and shared their guitars and their experiences with the students. There was excitement in the room and the West Hills students enjoyed seeing the enthusiasm!

Congratulations, Joey and Leo!! You crushed the competition and took home the win! Also, congrats to our staff runner ups Mr. Weatherford and Mr. Kitten! 👍🖤💙🌽🏆

CHEER TAKES CIF AGAIN!

Congrats to our wonderful Cheer team under the Coaching of Torrie Englert for winning CIF Division III Championship! We are proud of them! Thank you to everyone that came and supported the squad.

Congratulations to SPENCER BURKE for signing to D1 fencing powerhouse Penn State University! We know Spencer will continue to represent the Wolf Pack and we congratulate him on this huge accomplishment! 💙🐾🐺💙

New Wolf Pack Head Coaches

We are excited to announce three new head coaches to the Wolf Pack family!

Shane Anderson has been officially named as our new head coach for Boys Lacrosse. Shane has been coaching sports in Santee for over 10 years including Lacrosse.

Lauren Morizi will be taking over as the head coach of our Softball program. Coach Morizi has played and coached collegiality at Long Island University.

Eric Franssens (not pictured) has been named as the head coach of our Girls Lacrosse program in its inaugural season!

We are looking forward to all three of these sports beginning in the Spring season. More information, including lunch meetings to meet the coaches, to come about the upcoming season. Stay tuned!
