Learn it, Love it, Live it at Lovin Elementary
November 18, 2013
Dear Lovin Families:
First, I wanted to let you know how thrilled I am to be back. I am convinced that your support and well wishes helped in my recovery and for that I will be forever grateful.
I also want to share some incredible news... Lovin was named a "Highest-Performing School” by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE). That means we were among the top 5% of Title I schools in the state that had the highest absolute performance over three years for the “all students” group on the statewide assessments. This is such a testament to the hard work of our teachers and students and of course, we would never have received it without you... we have a true partnership and together we are making a difference. Congratulations to the entire Lovin community!
If you’d like to read the GaDOE’s press release, you’ll find the link in the News section of our website at www.LovinES.org/home.html. While there, please check the holiday lunch schedule in the Forms & Flyers section to see if your child’s class is scheduled to attend on Tuesday or Wednesday. We don’t want you to miss the chance to enjoy this special family lunch with your child!
I’d also like to remind you that Lovin is having a canned food drive this week to benefit the Lawrenceville Food Co-op and The Quinn House. Please consider dropping off a non-perishable food item when you come for lunch – or send your donation to school with your child. Collection boxes are located in the front lobby. Thank you in advance for joining our efforts to help local families in need.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday next week. I hope it is filled with lots of food, family, and fun!
P.S. While you are here for lunch, don't forget to check our lost and found for any belongings your child may be missing. It’s located in the hallway between the gym and cafeteria. All items not claimed by December 20th will be donated to a local charity.
Parent Perception Surveys
Next time you are here, please take a few moments and stop by the Parent Center to take the Parent Perception Survey. We value your input. The survey is also available through the Parent Portal.
