Northwood Elementary School will provide higher-level learning opportunities for all students to maximize their potential in a safe, nurturing, respectful, and diverse environment.

Today at Northwood - Updates and information

1. Thanks to our community of students, parents and staff for making the pick-up process run smoothly today. I appreciate your patience during the release of students today.

2. I know the Superintendent sent out messages about the closing and opening of school today. I wanted to give you some added pieces of information about the building. When the power goes out we have a generator.

a. Lights are on in the halls. Classrooms can use the light from the sun (not much of that today).

b. Our toilets and sinks are on sensors (they need electricity to flush and for water to flow).

c. The food service loses power when we have an outage.

d. The temperature decreases.

3. Lunch for Wednesday: Lunch counts were taken prior to students leaving this morning. Students will have hot lunch on Wednesday if they ordered it. The hot lunch orders for today will not be charged to your account.

4. Attendance for this afternoon will be taken and has to be documented. We cannot mark a student present that is not in the building for the afternoon. I completely understand if you could not arrange for your child to return this afternoon. When running reports for truancy any afternoon absence from today will show but you can disregard it.

5. If you have any questions please email me and I would be glad to answer them.
