2024 TRAILBLAZER CONFERENCE BOYS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS
One Month at AGMS
Space: Our students have enjoyed having the space provided by our new building. The halls are large, collaboration spaces ample, and classrooms have flexible seating for increased opportunities for small group work.
Middle School Bluejay Rally: During our second week back we held our first Middle School Bluejay Rally. During the rally we recognized students, had a class vs. staff competition, and heard from Ms. Smith about having Integrity, the "I" in our RISE matrix.
Breakfast and Lunch: After a short wait, we've been able to have lunch the last couple of weeks in our new cafeteria. Shorter lines and easy access to a la carte have been a bonus for our middle school students.
Competition Gym: We held our first varsity wrestling meet in early January and have hosted a few varsity basketball games as well. Our visitors are always impressed with our school and gym.
We are looking forward to early March when we can open our Performing Arts Center to the public!

THE FINAL EVENTS: We were excited and honored to be able to have Bluejay alums from the 1966-1967 Wrestling and Boys Basketball teams join us to be honored at the final varsity events in those two sports in the high school gym on Furnas Street! These men were part of the teams that opened the new facility in the 1966-67 winter season and were excited to be part of the connection of the past to the present. Once a Bluejay, always a Bluejay!!

A Note From the AG Technology Team
Parents, we have had some issues with our student chromebooks needing repairs for charging issues. Acer believes having students use the USB-C charging port on the RIGHT side of the device (as opposed to the left side port) will help with these issues. If you could please help remind and monitor this at home, the tech team would appreciate it.
From the Desk of Ms. Washburn, Middle School Counselor
There’s no doubt that adolescents are tech savvy, many times much more so than adults. When it comes to digital media use, however, many people have raised concerns about the impact it is having on our young people, especially in terms of mental health. The following link is to an article from Psychology Today. It explores the topic of digital media, recognizing that the research results have been mixed. Towards the end of the article are some practical guidelines to consider when talking with your adolescent about digital media. Regardless of where you stand on the issue of digital media, continued communication with pre-teens and teens is important.
