ABODA CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS from President Bill Humbert
The Clinicians
We are blessed to be hearing from Greg Solomon from California who will be presenting sessions on marching band (GE) as well as, how to understand your school administration team better and develop listening skills in the classroom for your students. Additionally, Michael Pote and Chris Griffa will be here from Indiana to share their thoughts on ensemble rehearsal strategies. Arizona is also well represented. You will have the opportunity to hear from: Andrew Dabcynski, Todd Livingston, Scott Glasser, Jenny Nichols, Dana White, Bill Humbert, Jeff Quamo, Chad Shoopman, Mike Shellans, Dan Bradstreet, Linda Levy…and many more.
The Music
At this year’s conference, we will hear concerts featuring the following ensembles: Mountain View HS Chamber Orchestra, Mountain Ridge HS Wind Ensemble, Deer Valley HS Wind Ensemble, Poston JHS Concert Band, and the Stapley JHS Wind Ensemble. These are all amazing ensembles and I am sure will be a highlight of your weekend. Additionally, there will be many fine ensembles performing throughout the weekend during sessions as demonstration and clinic groups. This is going to be fantastic…come and sound bathe with us.
The Hang
Hanging out with colleagues and friends. This is really the best part of all. Smiling, laughing, and exchanging stories and ideas with other teachers is always a highlight. It is a great place to connect or reconnect with other music educators. So…I will see you there, right?
