First Day of School
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 23. Students should plan to be in the building each morning by 7:30 a.m. Students who are dropped off, or driving to school, please enter through door #1 (doors open at 7:15 a.m.).

2023 SAT Scores Increase at CSHS!
2023 SAT Scores will come available shortly. This past year the state average SAT score decreased from 957 to 954, but the CSPS average increased from 994 to 1018 - Congratulations! Keep working daily to prepare for more success this upcoming year.
Fall Play Auditions - “The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood”
Auditions: Wednesday, Sept 6 and Thursday, Sept 7 from 2:45 p.m.-5:35 p.m.
Each session will have 6 people, and auditions will last approximately 30 min
Arrive to the auditorium at least 5 min before your scheduled audition time.
Bring a completed and signed audition packet and contract to your auditions (needs to be signed by both the student and the parent/guardian). Audition Packets are available in either Mrs. Teunissen’s
room (410) or Mr. Sturgeon’s room (313).

PowderPuff Sign-Ups and Practice Dates
Students interested in participating in the Junior/Senior PowderPuff game can sign up Sept 5-8 during lunch. The cost to play is $25 and includes your Jersey and mouthguard. Players must attend at least two of the practices to participate in the game.
Practices will take place at the football practice area next to Cedar View Elementary from 6-8 p.m.

“Steel for Steel” Fundraiser
The "Steel for Steel”Fundraiser is still happening!
Drop off scrap metal and steel in the green PADNOS recycling bin located in the northeast corner of our student parking lot (near the tennis courts). The bin will remain until we fill it (currently on our fourth bin)!
The donation will help our weight room get new 'steel' supporting our strength and condition program!
Our afterschool strength and condition program is open to all students as a way to grow fitness, confidence, relationships, and school pride!
Post-Graduation Opportunities Informational Packets
The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) has partnered with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) and other statewide stakeholders to develop the organization of resources on LEO’s Pathfinder resources page to comply with the requirements of MCL 380.1293 (Public Act 88 of 2022), post-graduation opportunities informational packet, which is now available.
Pathfinder is an online career exploration and planning tool to help increase the number of Michigan residents with high-quality, in-demand degrees and credentials by providing information to students to make informed choices about educational and career options. As such, it houses the compilation of resources and creates a centralized location for decision-making information.

Senior Portraits
Senior portraits are due December 2, 2023, and can be sent to hsyearbook@csredhawks.org. Files must be named with the senior's legal last name and legal first name (ex: SmithWilliam.jpg).
Senior Yearbook Ads
The Cedar Springs High School Yearbook staff is now accepting senior recognition ads for the class of 2024. These ads will be featured in a special section of the 2023-2024 yearbook. Please take this special opportunity to tell your seniors how proud you are of their achievements! Senior ads are available for a limited time on a space-available basis.
