Messages from Principal Lefere

Hobert's Star Party

  • Thanks to all the families that attended the spectacular Star Party! And a big thanks goes out to Lisa Schott for organizing the event and the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society for supporting. You may be thinking the same thing as me, "Let's do this again!"

Student Illness and Symptoms

  • If your child develops any symptoms and you are not sure if he/she should attend school, please contact our front office. We would be happy to help determine if your child can attend school or if it would be best to stay home. We want to keep students safe and we want them to attend school when possible.
  • Please follow any quarantine return to school dates. If you are unsure of your child's return after a quarantine period, please contact the office.

From the Howbert PTO...

Our annual WALK-A-THON is coming up, so save the date for October 1st for the big day!

The Walk-A-Thon is the only fundraiser we do each year & 100% of the money comes to Howbert!

In the past we have used this to:

  • Fund the shade-structure on the playground
  • Purchase picnic tables for student use
  • Help with family nights at Howbert like Art Focus Night and Game Night
  • Buy snacks for students in need
  • Buy laptops, iPads, software and other technology for students
  • Fund field trips and presenters for students
  • Purchase art, music and PE equipment
  • Host Staff and Community Luncheons

As you can see, the money we raise is well used! Your student should have brought home a Walk-A-Thon envelope home with more information and dates. We appreciate your support of Howbert and our students. We really have the BEST community!

PTO MEETINGS
The Howbert PTO meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 4pm. We will be meeting in-person but will also have a virtual option for those that would prefer to attend on WebEx. Our next meeting is on Thursday, October 14th at 4pm.

We would love to see you at the meetings! It is a great way to share your thoughts, hear about happenings in the school and support the Howbert staff and students. And you don't have to commit to anything! Come to as many or as few meetings as works for you and your schedule.
