Fredericktown ES

Autumn Edition

Coats for Kids

We are pleased to partner with Kiwanis, The Salvation Army and Interchurch for the Coats for Kids Drive. Special thanks goes out to Lisa Lloyd, Program Director at Knox County Foundation. Fredericktown Elementary School is a collection site for gently used and new coat donations. Coats can be brought to the school the entire month of October.

How can you access this service in our community? If you are a current interchurch client, you can stop at any of the branches and receive a coat. If you are not a client, you can go to the Mount Vernon Interchurch location and receive a coat without having to become a client. The coats will be cleaned and distributed around mid-November.

Community Partnerships

Safe Routes to School

The Village of Fredericktown is working on a plan to make it easier to walk, bike, roll, and get around the village. A major focus of the plan is making sure there are safe routes for our kids to get to school.

Parents and caregivers are invited to fill out a confidential 5-minute survey about how your child travels to and from school. Your answers will help identify issues and develop strategies to make walking and bicycling to school safer.

The project team will also have a table at the school on October 25 and 27th, 4-7 pm, during parent-teacher conferences to talk to the community about the plan, so stop by to learn more and share your ideas.

Please fill out the survey by November 11: https://www.gethealthyknox.com/fredericktown-walk-bike-roll-plan.html and contact truhl@knoxhealth.com with any questions.
