Community Connections in Orange County
Welcome to the Orange County Community Connections Monthly Newsletter. Here you will find information about the special gatherings we have planned for December.
You can find all our events in the Field Trip and Events (FTE) Inspire page where you will sign-up and RSVP for each event. Some of the field trips may have a cost. The price will listed in the FTE. All new events open for registration on Mondays at 8:00 am.
We look forward to facilitating connections, inspiring community, and enhancing the Adventure of Learning!

Jan. 17th: Bowlorama: Bowl-ieve it or Not! for MS and HS
Let the good times roll as we bowl together.
Prizes for best individual score and team score

Kickball
Jan. 24th: Broomball for MS and HS
Come enjoy a cool slippery night on the ice with your awesome M.S. and H.S. peers as we use cut off brooms, a ball, and sneakers. Make sure you dress warmly, bring your competitive attitude and bring a friend. May the best team win!

December 1K Fun Run and Gingerbread House Competition
Jan. 7th: Kickin' Kickball with a Cause TK-8th grade
9:30 am - 11:00 am

$5 per student
Come play in our Kickin’ Kickball with a Cause Fun Day!
Wear your favorite sports attire, create a sign to cheer everyone on and donate a snazzy pair of new socks to those in need!
From beginner to expert, come learn the rules and fun of kickball! Play and connect with new families and friends! Inclusive for all ages: TK-8 grade. From Homerun Derby, to Base Running Races, to playing the game, it's going to be an amazing time!
An adult vs High School students game will follow this event! Who will win? Stay, watch, cheer, and support your favorite team!
Jan. 7th: Kickin' Kickball Battle - HS vs Adults
10:30 am - 12:00 pm

We challenge YOU, High School Students, to a game of Kickball.
You vs. Us. Adult vs. Student. Cat vs. Kitten. Master vs. Apprentice. Wizard vs. Muggle. Jedi vs Padawan.
We battle YOU for bragging rights as the Inspire community cheers on their favorite team.
We will have a Homerun Derby Contest, Base Running Races and battle it out in an EPIC game of Kickball.
You better bring a friend if you want to win.

All Aboard! Come Join the Trains and Treasure Hunt Express! All ages welcome.
Adventure on a round trip train ride from San Juan Capistrano to Solana Beach! Students will experience the fun of the train, beautiful scenery, and time getting to know new friends, all while finding hidden treasure, soaking up the sun and exploring erosion on the beach in Solana Beach!

Come adventure on a round trip train ride from San Juan Capistrano to Solana Beach! High Schoolers will experience the fun of the train and disembark to a local coffee shop for trivia, board games, and a book club! Bring your favorite game and book to share!

Jan. 8th: In-n-Out Burger Tour

In N Out...that’s what a hamburger’s all about!!
Come and experience a behind the scenes look at In-N-Out Burger! Tour the facility, learn what goes into making the food, and even get a free meal for your student! This field trip is for Inspire students grades 1-8 only.
Please arrive before 9am, so that we can check-in and fill out meal order forms before the tour starts...yum!

Get outside and PLAY! Come and experience creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking as you play and use your imagination to build!
RECESS REVOLUTION will lead an hour long play time!
Children must think creatively to play using loose parts. Recess Revolution likes to use tires, cardboard boxes and tubes, wood planks, fabric, clothespins, linoleum, rope, netting, buckets, spools, hoses, crates, and more. ART IN THE PARK
Vendors will be teaching students how to explore the world through art.
Thank you to
Craft and Light Creative Arts Studio and
Art and Soul Collective for coming to our park day.
We will also have Greg Baran Writing join us for a very informational PARENT ZONE
Parents will learn how to help their child become a more effective and fluent writer.
This is a workshop for all ages- not to be missed!

Students will be participating in an art class exploring what they learned during their tour.

Jan. 22nd: Science of Snow Adventure Day

Come explore the science of snow! We will look into the science behind snow and have hands-on projects as we investigate together. We will explore the science of snowflakes, condensation and frost, snowfall and all things frozen!
We will have grade-level groups and hands-on activities! Come join in the fun!!

Take a fun and interactive journey through our solar system! Along the way, you'll investigate gravity, stars, planets, constellations, NASA's space program and even uncover worlds which may harbor life. An engaging and fun tour through the solar system. Plus, our amazing star projector will simulate the night sky.

Reminders
- Parents - CC Events are not drop-off nor are the CC staff responsible for supervising students at these events. Parents are responsible for providing supervision of their children for every Community Connection activity, event and field trip.
- Nut Aware - Please be aware we may have students with allergies - please bring nut-free snacks and food with you.
- Sick Children - We know no one wants to miss our gatherings, but keeping ill students at home protects everyone, including those with fragile immune systems. Thank you for not spreading germs.
