What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
I hope you had an extraordinary Thanksgiving Break. I want to thank all families who donated to the food drive and the Halloween costume drive. Your donations are essential!
Last week at the Luce, we had amazing exemplars of authentic learning and student engagement across the school. Students engaged in a multitude of creative learning opportunities, including:
- Engaging in the engineer design process in 3rd Grade;
- Creating balloons for the Luce Day Parade in 4th Grade;
- Presenting their non-fiction research projects in 5th Grade.
The week, although short, was excellent and complete.
As we come back from Thanksgiving break, please make sure to monitor for signs of sickness before coming to school. As the colder months are upon us, we can anticipate a rise in sickness. We will continue to employ our COVID mitigation strategies at the Luce. We can keep the numbers down together.
Flannel Friday
This Friday, we will have Flannel Friday to kick-off December. Please have your children wear any style of flannel on Friday.
Cold-Weather Gear
As the weather gets colder, please make sure to have your child(ren) dress for the cold weather. Students will need a jacket to participate in recess when it is cold outside. If you need help with getting a winter coat, please let me know.
Student/Family Handbook (Action Needed)
If you have not signed the Approved Luce Handbook with Appendix, please make sure to sign by clicking the link below by Tuesday, November 30.
