It's Survival Week!
8th Grade Survival Trip May 18-20th
It's Survival time for our 8th graders. We know they are buzzing with anticipation and excitement!
All Schoenbar camping trips begin and end at Schoenbar Middle School. Your student will arrive at school on Wednesday at their normal time and will report to their trip leaders room. Leaders will review expectations and prepare campers for departure, estimated around 9:00 am. Students will travel by bus to their departure destination and begin their survival adventure. On Friday, campers will breakdown camp and prepare for their return to school. Estimated arrival back to SMS between 11:00 - 12:15pm. Students will return borrowed gear and are then excused for the remainder of the day.
Parents can pick up THEIR student from school. If you are ride sharing, the parent of each child will need to notify the office and let us know their student has permission to ride with another adult.
We will be posting tentative SMS arrival times on Facebook, so follow the SMS page for the latest information.
We are on the home stretch!
This week finds us in the final full weeks of the 21-22 school year and it had definitely been a journey. End of the year preparations for the Rising Knight Orientation and 8th Grade Continuation events is in full swing. Students will be returning library materials, classroom textbooks, calculators, uniforms, gym locker locks and other school property in the next week.
Watch your email and Facebook for important announcements and details on upcoming events. During these busy and sometimes stressful weeks, it is important to stay nourished and well rested. Do your best to practice healthy habits so you don't miss any fun events!
COVID Risk Level and Mitigation Planning
Covid Risk Level
In the MODERATE RISK level, masking shifts from "required for everyone in all areas of all schools' to 'strongly recommended for student sand staff in all areas'.
As we transition to a lower risk level, it is important for all of us to stay vigilant and continue practicing health and safety habits. Stay home if you are not feeling well, wash your hands frequently, maintain your personal space, and mask up if you choose. Remember to respect the choices of others with regard to health and safety practices and BE KIND!
