Big Hollow Hubble
Big Hollow Elementary School~ June 22, 2018
Welcome New Staff!
We are excited to have you aboard! :)
ELA Curriculum/Resource Adoption & Balanced Literacy/Thinking Maps Roll Out
We know that many of you get together and plan over the summer and we wanted you to have these documents which include the Thinking Map roll-out as well as the Balanced Literacy time-frame. These documents will also be reviewed with you in August. Click here for the balanced literacy plan and click here for the Thinking Maps plan.
In addition, Schoolwide materials for reading and writing have been ordered. As much as we tried, we were not able to get all materials here before school ended. Once the supplies come in over the summer and we have logged them in, we will contact you to either come pick them up or possibly deliver them to your house.
We will be in touch soon regarding the phonics adoption (majority vote along with the program that will be implemented next year.)
Professional development will be held at the beginning of the year to support you and get you started. PD for Schoolwide (reading and writing) will be held on Tuesday, August 21st and Phonics training for K-2 will be scheduled for early September.
We hope that this will help you as you start to plan for our district-wide ELA and Thinking Maps roll-out.
Have a great summer!
