Counselor News
Kindness Week was way too short with our Snow Day and delay, so I am going to extend some activities into next week. We will write Hospice Hug Notes and begin Kindness Rock projects in Art class. The students are really having fun sharing kind notes and completing their “Mission Possible.” I hope our activities will continue to spread kindness in and out of school. After all, kindness never goes out of style!
Pennies for Patients will also be extended by one week. Our final day to collect coins will be Friday, March 1st. So far, 2nd grade is in the lead with $91.95. I am anxious to see how much we have collected. Our goal is $500 and so far, as a total school, we have collected $320! Thank you for all of your generosity!
If your child is signed up for one of my small groups, please know that my schedule is a bit backed up due to the weather cancellations. I am wrapping up with some groups and plan to move on to my next groups as soon as I can.
Tiger Mart is in full swing and takes place every other week. Students collect tickets and are able to spend them or save up for the future. If you have donations of items that our students may be interested in, please let me know. I am collecting small items to put in Tiger Mart now and larger big ticket items for the end of the year. If you donate, just be sure that items are in good condition (clean, smoke-free, etc.) Also, we do not collect items that may look like a weapon. Thank you for helping this program to be a success! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email me at stacy.bokinsky@fcps.org or call me at 240-236-3755. Thank you!

WATCHDOGS
Our mission is simple...since 1998 WATCH D.O.G.S. has brought hundreds of thousands of fathers, grandfathers and father-figures into the classrooms and hallways of their children’s schools, with two primary program goals:
- To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
- To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
If you were unable to attend but are interested in learning how YOU can become a Watch D.O.G connect with us by emailing Lesptawatchdogs@gmail.com or check out the Watch D.O.G.S. Website atwww.dadsofgreatstudents.com!
Your PTA is holding a lottery fundraiser for the month of April. During each day in April a $50 prize (in cash, gift certificates or product) will be awarded to the person with the ticket matching the Maryland Evening Pick 3 Lottery Number. A winner is chosen every day! If no one has the matching number ticket a consolation prize will be awarded to another number chosen at random.
To make this fundraiser successful, we need to sell 1000 tickets. The tickets will be $5 each. We are asking each family to sell at least 7 tickets or make a $25 donation. Think of anyone who might like 30 chances to win $50 worth in prizes. You can sell tickets to family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
Your family will receive an order form. Please return it to school by Wednesday, March 13th. A member of the PTA Fundraiser Committee will contact you.
