No School on Monday, Sept. 7

In observance of Labor Day, we will not have school.

Back-to-School Nights

Our teachers are working on formats for these important meetings. During this time, you will learn about what your child will learn this year, expectations, and how you can support. Your child's teacher will communicate additional details. Here is our schedule so far for these online sessions:



  • Tuesday, Sept. 8- 1st grade 5:30-6:30 pm; 5th grade 6:30-7:30 pm
  • Wednesday, Sept. 9-4th grade 5:30-6:30 pm; 2nd grade 6:30-7:30 pm
  • Thursday, Sept. 10- 3rd grade 5:30-6:30 pm; Kindergarten 6:30-7:30 pm

Ongoing Materials Distribution and Library Checkout

Beginning next Friday, Sept. 11, our teachers will be able to distribute materials to families on an ongoing basis on Friday's between 9-3. Your child's teacher will communicate when they have materials for you to pickup and collect. This will be handled outside the building and in a safe manner.


Beginning Sept. 18, students will be able to checkout books from the library by reserving online. Mrs. Powers, our Media Specialist, will be working with students in the coming about how to do this. Library books will be available for pickup on Friday's with materials distribution.


More details will be shared through our classroom teachers.

Attendance Updates

This is a friendly reminder to call our attendance line at 970-488-5551 or use ParentVue to report any absences of your child. We want to remind you that we need to take attendance each day (M-F). Teachers will take attendance during morning meeting time and submit that to the office. We know that there will be times when students are not able to access online at the time of morning meetings, so please work with your teacher to let them know you were able to access online activities at some point during the day.

Special Note from Werner Library

Hey Werner Wildcats!


We are going to be collecting those books that you checked out in the spring!

There will be collection bins in the front of the school starting Tuesday September 8th-Friday September 11th. between 8am and 4 pm.


If you still have books, please make every effort to get those back this next week, so you can check out new books. I will be sending an email to those students if they have outstanding books, so make sure and check your email. IF you have any questions please email me at mseavey@psdschools.org

Werner PTA Meeting-Sept. 10

The Werner PTA will be having a meeting for all members and potential members on Thursday, September 10 at 9:10 until 10 am through the Zoom link below. We will be discussing our plans for how to adapt our usual activities, volunteer coordination, fundraising and festivities to the PSD current phase 1 COVID restrictions. We welcome your ideas and input so if the meeting time is not convenient for you, be sure to check out our Facebook page and connect with us there to share your thoughts.

AlphaBEST Child Care

Hello PSD parents,


AlphaBEST is excited to be able to offer care to your family during the time the children are in virtual learning. The flyer with location and pricing information is attached. Also attached are our procedures on how we will keep everyone safe while they are learning.


Space is limited to 20 children per location, so please register as soon as possible and registration is open. To be able to minimize the amount of interactions between different children, we are only offering a five-day option.Hours of operation are 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
