2019 Steam Fair

Please join us for the Fifth Annual Northville STEAM Fair (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Northville High School.

Big picture

Due to the construction at Hillside, this year's STEAM Fair--both the morning and evening sessions--will be held in the main gym at Northville High School (45700 Six Mile Road, Northville, MI 48168).

This year's theme is "The Cardboard Challenge - Inspired by Caine's Arcade." While the students enjoy the Fair during the day, it will be open to parents and the community from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on April 24th for school parents, students and community members to explore and interact with student-created designs.

The evening session will also include a contest--the school that has the most students in attendance at the Parent & Community Evening Session will win coupons from MOD Pizza.

The STEAM Fair is a collaboration between Northville Public Schools and the Northville Educational Foundation.

Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Community Financial Credit Union.

Senior sponsors include ITC, Michigan Educational Credit Union and Advanced Disposal.

We hope to see you at Northville High School for the STEAM Fair!

Follet Book Fair

Our school is hosting our first Follett Book Fair! Supporting a love for reading is
critical to student success. Supporting your school is just as important. The Follett
Book Fair encourages your child's reading habits, builds their personal libraries
and raises funds for the school, all at the same time.

What makes Follett Book Fairs different? Follett has been supporting schools for
more than 140 years which means you can expect an awesome selection of titles,
from a wide range of publishers. These are the books your children want to read.
See the attached flyer for some examples. Please note, prices do not include sales tax.

Students will be able to shop during media class throughout the week:
Monday April 22nd- Friday April 26th

Anyone can shop during conference times:
Thursday, April 25th 12pm-7:30pm Friday, April 26th 12pm-3:30pm

Don’t forget to send your student with enough money to cover sales tax.
Support your school and the avid readers in your family by visiting the book fair.

We hope to see you there! All sales benefit the Winchester Elementary School Library!

Thanks for your generosity!

We know our Winchester students love and appreciate our amazing teachers, and Teacher Appreciation week is the time for us to show them! Please print out the attached flower template and have your child decorate it and write why they appreciate their teacher! Naming the teacher would be great, so the flowers can be given to the correct teacher after they are displayed in a school bulletin board for the week. Feel free to have your child make more than one and for any teachers! The more flowers for our “garden”, the better!

Flowers can be turned in to the office anytime before Friday, May 3rd. Any questions, please email Andrea Couture at

Welcome to our New Custodian Ms. Nicole

We have recently been assigned a new day custodian at Winchester. Ms. Nicole began her assignment this week and is learning her way around Winchester.

For your awareness, Mr. Curt, previously assigned by GRBS to Winchester as our day custodian, has resigned from his position. Consistent with any such resignation, Mr. Curt is not to be present on school property or in school buildings.

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Nicole to Winchester.

Proper Shoes

For the safety of all students, please wear proper shoes to PE class. Tennis shoes are best!

In the warmer weather kids like to wear flip flops and sandals and in the winter boots

are often necessary. During these times, pack tennis shoes in your backpack so you

can change before coming to PE.

PE classes outside

Please plan to dress appropriately to be outside in PE. This means that in the morning
students shoes may get wet from the dew (pack extra socks or shoes to accommodate

the problem of having wet shoes/socks all day). You may also want to wear sun screen

to school since we will be outside whenever possible!

Winchester Physical Education Facebook Page

You can ‘like’ the Winchester Physical Education Facebook page and then you will
see our updates and information. To find us, search for Winchester Physical Education
and you will see our profile picture (the large W that is in the middle of the gymnasium floor). We will be posting more regularly starting this spring. We will not ever put student names
but if you are uncomfortable with pics of your students on the page, please email Ms. Haite.(
