What's good @ the RFM Library!?

The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library. –Albert Einstein
· Mission: The Rocky Fork library aims to promote literacy across all content areas, to inspire and motivate students to develop a love for reading, to support teachers by providing high quality materials that will enhance learning, and to challenge students to become independent, self-directed researchers who thrive in a society that demands digital information literacy.
· Personal Beliefs:
· The space and the books are meant to be used.
· Literacy is the core of personal and academic growth.
· Materials should be reflective of all people, beliefs, values, and abilities.
· The library staff and resources should always support teachers to enrich instruction in all content areas.
· The space and resources should promote and encourage 21st century informational literacy skills.

Teacher Services and Procedures: The fine print
Hot: Great for displays. As long as you feel comfortable, you may use it any time. However, if you are busy, drop off your materials, put a post it with your name on it and any special instructions, and we will get it done for you!
Cold: Great for expo markers. It's thicker and lasts longer, but does NOT stick to the walls.
Poster Machine: Send a .jpg to my email (you can use the snipping tool if your file is a pdf or other) with instructions - (Large size, regular size, half size) and whether you want it laminated. Please allow 2 full days for completion. The higher the dimensions, the better quality you will get! Since materials are expensive and the program not user friendly, the poster machine is only operated by library staff.
Dye Cuts, butcher paper, paper cutter: All yours! Use freely! Students are welcome to come down and pick up butcher paper with a teacher's permission. Please just have them ask us first. Dye cuts and paper cutters are to be used by teachers only.
Library carts of books: Starting a new unit? Research project? Or just need some high interest, content related books for SSR? Email me topics and I will pull a cart of books to your classroom!
Professional Materials: We have a great professional section behind the circulation desk. Come take a look at any time. I also take recommendations!
Booking the library before or after school: The library is meant to be used! If you need to have a meeting before or after school, please let Mrs. Williams and/or myself know.
