Keep Calm and Facilitate On-Using Facilitation Techniques to Drive Successful IEP Meetings for your child
We know that ARD (IEP) or 504 meetings are intended for the greater good of every child with special needs, but when conflicts arise it can be challenging to stay focused on the end goal. A successful meeting is not just about "getting to yes"; it’s about building trust through effective communication. Parents/guardians, teachers, and administrators can all benefit from using facilitation skills during the IEP process. Parents/Guardians will learn about IEP Facilitation, a process in which all team members learn 1) focused questioning and listening skills, 2) how to attack the problem and not the person, and 3) striving for a consensus that is agreeable to all parties. This session focuses on the importance of communication, relationship-building, and data to drive good decisions for students.
After you register with the webinar session ID# and complete the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email that contains the webinar link and the link to download the handouts/materials.If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your junk/spam folder.
There is always an ESC-20 staff member on the other end of the webinar. Utilize the chat box to ask any questions for the presenter or if you are experiencing any technical difficulties.
The web manager will provide participants with a link to take attendance toward the end of the session.
