“I Can” Drive

Last week, students at PES brought in canned goods to each of their classrooms. This week students took time to write “I Can...” statements for each canned good. During a school year such as this one, we wanted to recognize and celebrate all the “I Cans” that have been accomplished by our students. These cans were then displayed in the hallways of PES for students and staff to view. Some classes even did a gallery walk to check out the "I Cans" around the school. Thank you to the parents and staff at PES for supporting this project! All of the cans will be donated next week to the local food pantry.

Special Visitor

This week both Mrs. Falk and Miss Moffa’s class had a special visit from Jason Zucker. Jason has worked with Disney for over 25 years. Jason has helped with animation on a number of Disney movies including Little Bear and Tarzan. He also worked with merchandising and creating the classic Disney buttons. During his visit Jason taught the students how to draw Mickey Mouse. The students loved his visit and were very engaged while sketching this beloved character. He told the students that Mickey is now 93 years old! Can you believe it?
