Conductor Corner

Hello DMS Families!

I wanted to take a moment to tell you what a wonderful week we had here at DMS! Students were very hard working and well behaved throughout the week. We were so impressed, that we offered students a free hat day on Friday. The lunchroom staff enjoyed their time with the students this week so much that they rewarded them with five minutes of extra recess on Friday. The students are reflecting the school expectations, and we are so proud of them!

Students will be taking their winter benchmark testing starting next week. Please make sure that your child is getting lots of sleep so they can show us all they have learned so far this year.

I also wanted to make you aware of a resource we have available to students at Durand Middle School. Our school nurse, who the students address as Nurse Kayla, is available to see students Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM on most school days. If your child needs to take a medication when the nurse is not available, the office staff will be happy to help. As a reminder, please fill out the medication form in the office and provide us with a new, unopened bottle for over the counter medication. Prescription medication needs to be in the original bottle with the original label from the pharmacy.

Thank you and have a safe weekend!
