High School Newsletter
March 1-31
News and Notes from the Den
Here in the High School we started the month celebrating the academic achievements of our students with the 25th Annual Honors Banquet and 8th Annual National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. It was a wonderful evening and I was thrilled to announce the Class of 2023 Valedictorian, Yarelis Rivera Rivera, and Salutatorian, Enid Colon Sandoval.
Experiential learning opportunities about here in the high school. The School Counselors are leading many service learning trips and college visits. Our teachers have been leading the charge with creative field trips for their students. The Experiential Education Class will be leaving for a once in a lifetime trip to London, England on March 10th. Finally, the teachers and students are finalizing their plans for Museum Day, a yearly CAP tradition.
I have begun holding meetings for students in grades 9-11 who are interested in attending North Carolina Outward Bound on scholarship this summer. Parents and guardians, please keep an eye out for information regarding this awesome opportunity. If your child is interested, please review the resources that will be shared with them and you.
Finally, please keep a look out for details regarding registering for our famous STEAM Night, a night full of family friendly activities, that is taking place on March 28th.

Parent/Guardian Required Physical Reminder
Community Academy Of Philadelphia
PARENTAL REMINDER OF REQUIRED PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS
Pennsylvania Public School Code, Section 14-1402(e), requires physical examinations for students in kindergarten, sixth and eleventh grades.
If you have already turned in a private physical examination to the school nurse please disregard this reminder. Since your own private physician is familiar with your child's medical history, we encourage you to have the physical examination done by your family doctor. Attached to this notice is a Report of Physical Examination, this should be completed by your child's physician and then returned to your child's school. If your child has had a health examination in the 6 months prior to the start of the current school year, a doctor's report from that exam may be used. If not, this notification is intended to give you time to arrange for an examination.
If you have any questions or concerns related to this, please email schoolnurse@communityacademy.org or call 215-533-6700 ext. 1136
