FLEX Friday Remains
I wanted to provide our community an update on the future of FLEX days at NTH@C. First though, I want to thank all the learners who provided feedback in the last week. I so enjoyed the conversations that we had in the hallway, during FLEX sessions, and via the survey that was sent out to collect feedback. I am honored to work at a school where we build the culture together.
Even though C days have gone away at the other high schools, we have an almost 3-year history of having FLEX days on our campus. Learners provided their feedback and over 86% of our learners voted to keep FLEX on Fridays over Wednesdays (what we had the last two years). Additionally, staff feedback was gathered that supported that vote. Some key reasons learners and staff wanted to keep FLEX on Fridays:
- less disruptive when learners miss for sporting events or competitions on Fridays
- easier to get outside speakers and evaluators on Fridays
- learners like ending the week with FLEX because they could catch up on assignments and set goals for the following week
- many teachers provided review of concepts on Fridays or workshops for additional content

Future Testing Accommodation Information
NTH@C College Board and ACT Testing Accommodations
Application Process and Forms
A student with a documented disability may be eligible for accommodations on College Board tests (SAT, SAT Subject Tests, PSAT, and AP exams) and the ACT. The school does not automatically apply for students to receive accommodations, but will assist families once the request is made to begin the process of applying for accommodations if their child is eligible for Section 504 or SPED. Parents should initiate the process by visiting our information page located on the New Tech High Website, under Announcements:
If you have any questions regarding testing accommodations, please contact Ms. Shaikh, Assistant Principal at rshaikh@coppellisd.com.
