Week of March 15, 2021
Dear Wildcat Families,
We are excited to welcome our students back to campus! We are celebrating the beginning of the fourth quarter and the return of our students with a districtwide Spirit Week! We encourage our DLA Wildcats to share their school spirit by emailing pictures to their Homeroom Teacher or Mrs. Guenther.
Wishing all our Wildcat Families a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Garrett and Mrs. Shannon
Computer Return Process
We ask that students bring the device and charger to their homeroom classroom, or parents may return the device to the front office between 8:20 am and 4:20 pm. Per the Student Laptop Checkout Agreement that was signed when the device was received from the school, you are financially responsible for any equipment that is lost, stolen or damaged.
Students in the Hybrid or DLA models with a borrowed device will return them at the end of the school year.

Bully Prevention: Bullying is a specific form of aggressive behavior that is intentional (designed to be physically and/or psychologically hurtful), threatening and persistent. It occurs within relationships where an imbalance of power exists. A bullying culture can develop anywhere people. interact, including schools, families, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Any culture that is competitive, autocratic and based on external controls can be a breeding ground for bully/victim relationships. Bullying will continue to flourish unless we change our approach from an autocratic power-over culture to an inclusive, compassionate, democratic School Family that utilizes positive intent to see the best in children who act out. These kids don't just show up in school one day and decide, "I think I'll be a bully!" It takes years to become a bully and all bullies actually start out as victims.
The video, "How to Make a Bully From Scratch" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzftHNh7xP8 (examines five road signs of a bully in the making). Bullies are disconnected children and each road sign represents another form of disconnection.
Challenge: We can choose to intervene at any time using skills like reframing our intent from negative to positive and teach a new skill to replace the troublesome behavior.
