Counseling Corner
Every parent knows that friendships are important. They enrich our lives, boost our self-confidence and provide the moral support we need to push through hard times. I think we could all agree that loyalty is a main component in any good relationship and lots of kids, as they are learning about what makes a quality friend, sometimes take this attribute to the extreme. “ Well, I didn’t really want to but I did it because we are friends.” Loyalty in friendship is important but not if it compromises on your value system. One of my favorite authors Adam Grant perfectly explained this tricky concept when he said , “ Loyalty should never come at the expense of integrity. Anyone who asks you to violate your values doesn’t deserve your allegiance. Respecting boundaries is a foundation of trust. They people worthy of commitment expect you to stand by your principles, not conform to theirs.” Remind your kids that loyalty at the expense of their integrity is not true friendship.

Poinsettia Sale
Orders for McClure’s Holiday Poinsettia Sale will be held November 11-18th. Watch for a Google order form in next Friday's update! Proceeds support your McClure Parent Council! Order for yourself, friends, and family-they make wonderful gifts! This year we will offer the opportunity to donate a Poinsettia to decorate the stage at the McClure Holiday concert. Word From WSFEE
WSFEE wants you to see how grants are 'in action' at our schools. Have you seen the Communication Boards up at all D101 schools? Did you have an elementary student signed up for the STEM Club? Have you read a good book found in a school or classroom library? These were all supported by WSFEE grants. Visit wsfee.org or follow WSFEE on Facebook or Instagram (@wsfee_d101) to hear about events, sponsorship, and donation opportunities.
