Ridgeway One Read
A note from Media Specialist Rebecca Munsterman
It’s time for the Ridgeway One Read! For this special two week event (March 15 to March 25), each family will receive a copy of the same book to read at home together. At school, there will be daily trivia questions and other fun activities to go along with the story. The reading will require about 10 minutes each night, and I am personally asking you to open up your schedule to enjoy this special reading time with your children. Each day this past week a new clue has been revealed. In case you missed it, here are the clues:
1. The author of this book lives in the bustling city of Baltimore.
2. This book made its debut in 1994.
3. The main character in this book has an enormous collection of something.
4. The author’s son shares the name of the main character in this stupendous tale.
Have you figured it out yet? The book will be revealed at school Tuesday, March 15! Each family will receive their copy to begin reading that night.

Message from Ms. Cowdrey
As spring approaches (finally! 😊) and kids start wearing sandals and flip flops, please remember that these are not ideal shoes on the day they have PE. They can bring tennis shoes and change in class if they need to.
All units continue to work on our three expectations of being respectful, responsible, and safe students in PE.
Unit A has been working on ball skills: handling various sizes of balls and learning to dribble, catch, roll and bounce. Ask your child about Bal-A-Vis-X. For this program, your child uses a handball and learns various patterns for dropping and catching the balls. These challenges work on both sides of the brain and can ultimately assist with better coordination, balance, and cognition.
Unit B & C are finishing up our basketball area of concentration and will move into soccer next. Both units will also work on the Fitnessgram test coming up in April. It will help your child if they work on sit-ups, push-ups, stretching and cardio workouts at home as well as the time that they are in PE.
