The Final Week of the 2nd 9 Weeks
News from Mr. Foreman's Class and 4th Grade
Almost Halfway to 5th Grade!
On Monday, it was great to see everyone's smiling faces as they returned to school. There was definitely excitement in the air as the children greeted their friends and shared stories about their winter break!
I threw that title in to get everyone's attention, but it's true. Only five days left in the nine weeks and we have quite a bit of work. The end of the 2nd nine weeks is this Friday, January 16th. Your students are half way done with 4th grade, but there is still lots to do.
We are finishing up our country research writing and what I have seen so far is some outstanding work. The final draft of country research is due this THURSDAY at 10 a.m.
We are also completing our electricity unit and will have our test on FRIDAY, January 16th. Look for a study guide on Tuesday.
Math classes will be taking or have taken the math mid-year exam. Mrs. Fiddner's and my class took the test last week. The test is cumulative for the first two nine weeks and we break it up over two days. Talk to your student to see when they will be taking the test.
Don't forget next Monday is a holiday and next Tuesday is a teacher workday, so there will be no school on either of those days.

Updating Emergency Dismissal Plans
Due to nature of the winter season, we are trying to update our emergency early dismissal plans. I will be sending home a copy of the Emergency Plan that you filled out for your student at the beginning of the year in this week's Monday folder. These are the plans that will be followed in the event that there is an early dismissal from school. Please make any necessary changes to the form and return it to me ASAP. If there are no changes, then you do not need to return it.
