Seventh Street Reconfiguration and Transformation Plan
Dr. Gregory J. Pilewski presented the Seventh Street Elementary School Reconfiguration and Transformation Plan at Thursday's Board Workshop. Consideration is being given to rename Seventh Street Elementary School to “The 6-57 Learning Institute,” paying tribute to the six black teenagers who tried to integrate North Little Rock High School in the fall of 1957.
Seventh Street Reconfiguration and Transformation Stipend Resolution
The North Little Rock Board of Education approved a resolution that would offer a $17,000 stipend over a three year period to all licensed staff that will be employed at "The 6-57 Learning Institute," which will open in the fall. This is above the current district wide pay outlined in the district's salary schedule.
Demolition on New Amboy Property
The Board of Education approved the demolition of structures on the new Amboy Elementary School campus, following an abatement assessment. This property is located in front of the school, which once served as a gas station. The district purchased the property to alleviate traffic woes.
Board Accepts FY 22 Audit
The Board approved the financial audit for the fiscal year that ended in June 30, 2022. Based on findings submitted by HCJ CPAs and Advisors, the district has a clean audit.
