Time, Evolution, Prophecy and 2012
Autumn Conferences at Emerson College
For many years the end of the Mayan Calendar on December 21st, 2012 has been the subject of prophecy.
In this series of three conferences at the internationally renowned Emerson College, our expert presenters will delve into the possibilities opening up in this special time.
The Conferences
September 7th–9th
The Calendar, Cyclical Time and Evolution
This conference will look at the history of the calendar in the light of the evolution of consciousness. We will discuss the different cycles of time - the archangel periods, the Platonic Year, the great epochs of planetary evolution and the Mayan Calendar.
We will also see how these periods are mirrored in the festivals of the year and other calendrical cycles.

The Mayan Calendar and the real meaning of 2012
Contributions by Dr Robert Powell and Angela Lord
In this conference we will examine the significance of the end of the Mayan Calendar on December 21st, 2012.
Taking an approach inspired by the work of Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner, we will explore the interrelationships of the heavenly bodies as an outer expression of the being of Sophia—the embodiment of human wisdom—and show how Steiner's work is able to describe the spiritual connections between the macrocosm and the microcosm - between the universe and our personal lives on Earth.

The Mayan Calendar, the Sun and the Evolution of Thinking
This conference will reflect on the end of the Mayan calendar, the evolution of ideas over time, the contribution of some key individualities to this evolution and the physical and spiritual nature of the Sun.
We will also bring deeper perspectives to these developments based on Rudolf Steiner's insights into reincarnation and karma.
