Home made Moccasins
Learning to make my very own pair from the heart
This is beginning process of stitching my front liner and foot pattern together. I had to learn how to use a whip stitch as it secures the material together well. These moccasins are made to last a long time.
Here is what my liner looks like with the front section completed. I used black thread so I can see my stitching. If I were a professional moccasin maker, I would use white to hide the thread. I am pleased with how well the stitching was done. I was worried that it would not look nice, but then I remembered that I am going to be turning these inside out, so you wont even see the stitching! Silly me!
Here is what the entire liner looks like after completing the heel section. It is looking more and more like a shoe :)
My next step is going to be sewing on the 'vamp' which is just another way of saying the front part where my beading is going to be on. Until next time! Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
