Update from THIS I.F.

Welcome June!!

What is the genius of our students?

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” The question I have for you at this point of our journey together is, “What is your genius?”

Resource Room

If you borrowed books or materials from the Resource Room--Please return these.

Reading Comprehension Tool Kits need to be returned to the Resource Room. They will be redistributed at the beginning of the year. If you want to check one of these out for some "light" summer professional development reading--that would be fine. Just let me know!

June 10th

We will meet 8:30-10:00 on June 10th to begin our Tier ! discussion. Remember this is to determine what is working and not working in our CORE instruction (majority of our kids). Last year we made decisions such as 90 minute math blocks, 120 minute reading blocks, etc. We will look at our data and assess what worked and areas we need to improve. In addition, we will begin looking at the weakest area in each grade level and do the brainstorming (ICE). We will look at reasons in our instruction, the curriculum and environment that we can control. These ideas will help us determine what we ALL need to do in each grade level to address the weakest skill.

We will not get Tier I complete but we will get the majority brainstormed--I can get it typed up over the summer and we should be able to begin the new year quickly! That is my hope! Thank you for your patience with the process! We have come a LONG WAY!

EOY TRC and K-2 Assessments

If you have not turned in your K-2 assessment class summary and your end of the year TRC written responses--please do that before you leave on Friday.
