Happy Friday Wolves!

It’s been a busy week here at Ridges, with some changes to recess plans due to smoke and rain, but overall we had a great week! I am also excited to share that our school community raised over $100,000 as a part of our Fun Run event! We are SO very thankful for your support of our school and for all the work that went into making this event possible. Stay tuned for more information about prizes in the weeks to come!

Additionally, please remember that next Thursday and Friday are no school days for the elementary level as we will be hosting fall conferences with parents.

Stay dry this weekend,

Special Education Parent Partnership

The Student Services Department invites parents to join Sherwood School District's monthly Special Education Parent Partnership meetings. These meetings provide an opportunity to build relationships, learn more about special education, and network with professionals and parents who have a passion for supporting students with disabilities. If you would like to join the Student Services Parent Partnership, please click here.

Ridges Spirit Days

It was fun to see so many students in their Ridges shirts and school colors today! Going forward, we will plan to have Ridges Spirit Days every Friday! If you are interested in purchasing Ridges gear, our online store can be found linked here. Go Wolves!

  • Funds raised through our book fair sales go to support our two libraries at Ridges Elementary.

In an effort to better clarify what is needed in order to volunteer at Ridges we have created a check-list doc which is linked here. Please note that you will need to complete all four steps prior to volunteering. Also just a heads up that background checks are taking 2-3 weeks to process so if you are hoping to volunteer, please get those submitted ASAP. We cannot allow volunteers until background checks have cleared. If you have questions, please email Lisa Wright at:

District and School Handbooks

Here is the link to our District Handbook, please take some time to look it over. Additionally, here is our Ridges Handbook Addendum that covers items specific to our school.

SSD Parents - We want your feedback!

The Sherwood School District is conducting a community engagement process as we assess how to best meet the needs of our students and families. At last night’s Back to School Night, we shared a short presentation about this process, as well as an opportunity to complete a parent/guardian feedback survey.

If you were unable to attend last night’s presentation, the information can be found here.

To complete our parent/guardian survey, please visit or scan the QR code to the right to access our online survey. To complete the survey in Spanish, please visit

    • Use of masks/face coverings is optional (not required).

    • Students and staff with primary symptoms of COVID-19 will be excluded from school, as per this guidance. Primary symptoms of COVID-19 include:

      • Cough

      • Temperature of 100.4° or higher

      • Chills

      • Shortness of breath

      • Difficulty breathing

      • New loss of taste or smell

    • Students and staff with a positive COVID-19 test are required to isolate for five days, with Day 1 being the first full day following the positive test result or onset of symptoms.

    • If your child has a positive COVID-19 test result -OR- has developed primary symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them home from school and contact your school’s office for additional guidance. Our Health Services Department will continue to contact families of ill students to provide information, testing support, and to confirm the date which your child may return to campus.

    • Families of students who have been exposed to confirmed positive COVID cases in classrooms, on sports teams, etc. will continue to be notified by their child’s school. Please note that school-wide notifications will no longer be sent out this school year unless directed by the local public health authority. There is no current quarantine requirement for close contacts of positive cases.

    • Diagnostic testing will continue to be available in our schools for students and staff who become sick with primary symptoms of COVID-19. Testing is optional, and written permission is required for students to receive diagnostic testing. If you would like your child to participate in testing in the event of symptom onset during the school day, please see your school office to complete a written permission slip.
