Back to School Information

The beginning of the school year is quickly approaching, so please review the information below to ensure you and your student(s) are ready!

  • LCPS previously shared immunization requirements with families. The information is linked below as well. Please notify us at 571-434-4580 if you are having difficulty fulfilling the requirements or obtaining a TB screening which is required for all new to LCPS. We can connect you with resources to help.
  • School supply lists can be found on our school website linked here. We can provide backpacks and school supplies to any student in need. Just contact us in the office at the number above or reply just to me on this email.

    • First Day of School
      • Thursday, August 26, 2021 ~ Doors open at 7:30 a.m. Students must be in their classrooms no later than 7:50 a.m.
  • Transportation: Loudoun County Public Schools determines which homes are provided bus transportation. Those who are in a zone where a bus is provided will be able to view their bus stop, bus time, and bus number in ParentVUE prior to the start of school. Typically this is available days before the first day.

Health Mitigation Practice

Superintendent Dr. Ziegler announced to families and staff earlier in August that, as students return to school on August 26, all students and staff will return wearing face masks. Students at all grade levels may remove their masks when outside, while eating, or when participating in physical education.

Construction

If you've stopped by the school this summer, you noticed the construction at the main entrance. The contractor explained there are several delays with materials that have pushed back the completion date for the renovation project. Typically, parents enter the main entrance at door A-5. Until further notice, please use the fifth grade entrance for Back to School Night and Open House. It is marked as door A-4.

As we begin the school year, you'll notice two security guards at the front entrance. The purpose is to screen visitors prior to entry due to the construction. We hope you know you are still welcome! Please reach out to Mrs. Short with any questions: jennifer.meresshort@lcps.org.

Summer Reading & Writing Challenge

Throughout the summer, our students have been invited to participate in the Summer Reading and Writing Challenge! We hope they are participating and ask our families to encourage their students to read and write every day. Students can still access the challenge digitally here. Direct links will take them to online resources to access virtual reading opportunities as well as links in Google Drive for students to make their own digital copies of the challenge. Read, read, read, and write, write, write!!
