Pappy the Ram

You may already know that Pappy is Radford's mascot. But did you know that Pappy was a real ram who used to live on Radford's campus? The original ram was given to Radford in the 1960s by Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, a commander of the Marine Fighter Squadron popularly known as the Black Sheep Squadron. Pappy was, of course, named after the commander. Pappy lived on campus and attended all Radford's football games and was an integral part of homecoming.

We will be including a motivational, inspirational or reflective quote or activity in every weekly bulletin in honor of Pappy.
