We have a busy week ahead!
Attendance Updates
Tickets: 1st and 5th period- continue passing out and we will pick names on Friday afternoon.
Donut Dash: 1st period Friday- classes with the most on time attendance will be given donuts to share.
Attendance Subcommittee: Still meeting weekly to continue to look at our data and support our attendance concerns. This group is also meeting with individual students that have attendance struggles.
Freshman Class Meetings: We have met with the majority of our families and addressed their success and also their struggles. These were positive and hopefully getting a few more students on track.
Student Celebration Assembly: Thank you to ASB for running this assembly and acknowledging students that are getting to school.
Attendance Community Board: Cathy Hernandez will be holding attendance meetings starting in February 21st with our students and families who are really struggling to attend. In these meetings there is a lot of brainstorming and supporting the student on how to increase their attendance and find the best options for them.
I am including a graph to see the growth from last year for student attendance.
Art Classes this week 2/15! Students need to sign up!
We will have a local tattoo artist, Austin Garza, here teaching some after school art classes. He owns a local tattoo shop and is a part of the LGBTQ community and a true advocate for students. Sign up sheet is in the office with Alma and it will be 10 per class.
Also big thanks to Eba for helping support getting the supplies to run the class!
Classes will be 2/15, 2/27, 3/14, 3/28
Industry Fair Tuesday 2/13

PD Plan Feedback
We had 18 responses and everyone was on board to move forward with the PD plan. This includes the book study, school wide strategy and unwrapping standards.
The one no is a JDC teacher 🙂
New discipline options
We had success at Intersession.
We were able to have 39 grades brought to passing by students during intersession. On most of the days we had over 20 students attending to regain credit. This also included students getting their Washington State history done and those numbers aren't included in our 39. The team that was there thought that we may want to try and offer an opportunity like this after school or during another time. If you are interested in supporting this- please send me an email.
SmartPass will be set up by 2/20!
We will have SmartPass up and running for students by 2/20 and will push out the training for them during that week.
