A Message from Mrs. Free

I can't believe it is already September! We are off to a great start and your children are learning and growing every day. This month we will host our first family engagement event of the year, literacy night. Part of the mission of John Adams is to build unity through relationships with students, family and the community. Parent engagement events, scheduled throughout the year, are critical in helping us accomplish our mission. More information about this event can be found below. We hope that you can join us on September 27th for an enchanted evening!

Parents of 4th and 5th Grade Students

The Tennessee Department of Education and its testing vendor Questar recently released the student reports for the 2018 spring administration of the TNReady Assessment. The TNReady Assessment includes Achievement Testing in grades 3-8, high school End-of-Course Tests, and alternative testing. Parents and guardians will receive Individual Student Reports (ISRs) for the tested subjects of English/ Language Arts, Mathematics, and Social Studies along with Individual Profile Reports (IPRs) in Science. Due to the condensed version of the Science test in grades 3-4 along with the change in academic standards, parents and guardians will not receive IPRs in Science for those particular grades.

Kingsport City Schools (KCS) is releasing all student reports to parents and guardians on Monday, September 10. These will be handed out to students at the end of the day. In addition, parents and guardians will receive a booklet that assists with interpreting the information contained on the ISRs and IPRs.

If you have any questions related to the reports, please contact an administrator at your child’s school. Questions may also be directed to Mr. Michael Hubbard, KCS district testing coordinator. Thank you for your time and attention.

SAVE THE DATE - FALL PICTURES are on September 18th
