COVID-19 Update

We are excited to get back to business tomorrow and welcoming everyone back. We will continue with enhanced mitigation protocols through the month of November. Please continue to perform health checks on your students before coming to school. Any child exhibiting symptoms or is deemed to be symptomatic by the nurse or health professional will have to be picked up to go home.

Currently we have two faculty members that need to remain in quarantine for the rest of the week. Since we have been closed for an extended period of time and exposure inside the school was eliminated, no contact tracing will need to be completed.

We will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC, Pennsbury School District, the Office of Catholic Education, and the Bucks County Department of Health.

These are the enhanced mitigation protocols for the month of November:

Masks must be worn at all times within the school. Please know that if the spread reappears in school we will have to discontinue the policy of a face shield option for students. Face shields are no longer an option for teachers and staff within the building. If your child is currently wearing a face shield you should have a conversation with them about the possibility of going to a mask now.

  • Lunch will be in the classrooms with the students eating in alternating rows in 15 minute sessions.
  • Art class will be moved to the cafeteria.
  • PE class will be outside when possible and masked indoors.
  • Recess will go back to last year's schedule of two 15 minute sessions.
  • No playground or equipment at recess.
  • No outside visitors.
  • No large gatherings other than Tuesday afternoon's Blue Ribbon Mass.
  • Class Masses are canceled for the month of November.

We will be adjusting any school activities and planned events for the month of November. Changes will be communicated in the weekly updates. Please know that decisions on December's events, including Santa's Shop, advent activities, and the Christmas Pageant are dependent on the success or failure of November's mitigation.

Tomorrow and Tuesday

Monday:

The Flag Raising scheduled for tomorrow has been canceled and we are hopeful to fly our flags very soon.

Our Home and School pizza lunch is still on for tomorrow. Students should bring in their own drink and snack as usual.

The free Student Dress Down Day is still on for tomorrow. Students may now wear any appropriate St. Ignatius gear, the color RED or BLUE, or their uniform.

Picture Retake Day is tomorrow! Students wanting retake or make up pictures should wear their winter uniform then change into their Dress Down Day clothes after the picture.

Tuesday:

We are going to continue our plans for our Blue Ribbon Mass and Student Council Inductions on Tuesday afternoon. Our youngest Crusaders will not attend Mass and students in Grades 1-8 will be socially distanced and masked while in church. Mass is scheduled for 1pm and all are welcome to wear BLUE and attend with our students. Guests should sit in the side pews of the church.

Students should wear their BLUE RIBBON SHIRT on Tuesday to school with their summer school uniform bottoms, shorts or pants. Students should not wear their GYM uniform bottoms since we are taking a new student body picture for the website.
