Hills, Bluffs, and Knolls
Bluff
A high steep bank as by a river or sea. It also has a broad. Broad means flat and long so a bluff has a broad face. Bluffs are made by a high coast of muddy sediment. Bluffs are in many diffrent forms and in diffrent states. Chimney Bluffs State Park is a beautiful place in Wolcott,NY. The word Bluff is Dutch.
Hills!
Hills are formed by deep erosion made up of areas raised from the Earth's crust.Hills are elevations. They are lower than mountains in elevation though. Hills look like a lump or bump growing up from the ground. Hills can be covered by rocks,grass and other things. A hill is a naturally raised area of land,not as high as a mountain. The Flint Hills in Windsor Kansas is a well known place that has quite a few hills.
Knolls
It is a small rounded hill or mound. When the knoll starts growing it gets bigger when it is fully grown it will start to sink back down into pretty much a hill. Most of the time it is trees that grow on top of them. Knolls are often shady spots.
