Our Mission: Arbor Springs Committed to Student Success.
From Dr. D. and Dr. T.
We have a very exciting visit coming soon! On September 19th, we will welcome our CSEE (Coweta Schools Effectiveness Evaluation) review team. This group of educators will help us assess our effectiveness and give us tips for improvement. We are the first school to be measured using this new tool and we are looking forward to it!

PTA News
PTA is off to a great start for the 2016-2017 school year! Thank you to families who have joined PTA this year and purchased our new spirit gear – shirts, magnets, and water bottles. Also, thank you to the families who came to our first Spirit Night at Sky Zone! It was a very fun night and we are looking forward to being a Partner School with Sky Zone. Our first Chick-fil-A Spirit Night is September 13.
We are very excited to announce that the PTA is pursuing the installation of a running track in the field on the north side of the Arbor Springs Elementary grounds. We are working on a proposal to present to the central office leadership team and ultimately to the school board.
Please “Like” our Facebook page for school events, PTA updates, etc. Lastly, don’t forget to send in your Box Tops, Labels for Education, Coke rewards codes and Sunny D UPCs. The current Box Tops competition rewards any student who brings in 100 BoxTops with $1 to the school store! If you have any questions or suggestions for PTA, please stop in and see us any Thursday, message us on Facebook or email us at <arborspringspta@yahoo.com>.
Thanks again for your continued support.

Counseling Corner
The character word for the month of August was respect. Respect is courteous consideration and high regard for yourself and others. Respect is a way of treating or thinking about something or someone. It always helps to think before you say or doing things. Always think about how others might feel.
Respect and School
The first few weeks of school you are learning rules and routines. It is important to put what you are learning in practice. As a Gator, one of our expectations is to be respectful! Respect has several meanings.
Having regard for others. That means accepting that other people are different but just as important as you feel you are. Some people may call this tolerance.
Having a proper respect for yourself. That means that you stand up for yourself and don't let yourself be talked into doing things that you know is wrong or makes you feel uncomfortable.
Not interfering with others (or their property.)
To consider something worthy of high regard. That really means taking all those other values and living them.

Career Day/Touch a Truck. Calling all occupations and vehicles for Friday, October 14th. I’m still looking for volunteers to help with this event. Please email me at Keivia.Clay@cowetaschools.net if you are interested!
A mentor provides additional attention and support for students and serves as a guide, a counselor, and a friend. Please email me if you are interested in becoming a mentor!
I am looking forward to an exciting school year!

Nurse's Notes
Welcome Back!! I can’t believe we have already finished our first month of school! Just a few reminders…
- Medication (Tylenol, ibuprofen, cough drops, etc) can be kept at school for your child. Just bring in the medication, in its original packaging, and fill out a medication form.
- All prescription medications (inhalers, epi-pens, etc) must be in the original packaging with the prescription/pharmacy label intact.
- Please label all food items sent to school for distribution to other students (birthday/bake sale, etc…). If there is not an ingredient label, it cannot be served. We have students allergic to nuts, peanut butter, oatmeal, strawberries, pecans, pistachios, and other foods. We ask that ALL items sent in for bake sale, class parties, birthdays, etc., be nut free.
- If your child is running a fever, he/she must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. This is 24 hours w/out the use of Tylenol and Ibuprofen.
- Most important of all…good hand washing! We practice this at school. Please continue this at home. It is our best line of defense in staying healthy.
- Ants are abundant on the playground. We are diligently treating them every day. Please remind your student to be observant and to not play with the ants.
Thanks, Mrs. Rebecca, School Nurse
