McClure's Announced Lockdown Drill - Tuesday, September 14th - 8:15AM
Safety continues to be an important focus at McClure Elementary. In accordance with McKinney ISD policies and in collaboration with the McKinney Police Department, all McKinney campuses will be conducting "Lock Down Drills." These drills will assure our students' safety if we should ever need to secure or lock down our building. Our goal will be to make sure that our students and staff know the procedures to keep them safe under unusual circumstances. Please note that if you are volunteering during one of these Lock Down Drills, you should go immediately to the nearest lockable room or hallway. On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 8:15 AM, we will be conducting a Lock Down Drill in coordination with our McKinney Police Department and the MISD Safety and Security Department. Please do not be concerned if you see police officers on our campus during this time. Each teacher will be going over Lock Down Drill procedures with our students. Please talk with your children at home about safety and not to be alarmed as it is necessary to practice for situations that may occur at school. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Respectfully,
Jennifer Harrison
College Week - September 20-24, 2021
McClure's September Stampede
As we have navigated the changes necessary to keep everyone safe and healthy this year, we continue to evaluate our practices and traditions to see if there are things we may need to adjust. In the past, we have welcomed anyone who wants to attend our amazing McClure Stampedes, and we love to have such strong school spirit. This year, however, in an effort to keep the number of attendees low, we are going to make a couple of changes. The first change is that we are going to split our Stampede into two by grade levels. We will hold a K-2 Stampede and 3-5 Stampede. The second change we are making is that rather than invite everyone to attend, we are going to ask that only the parents of the students receiving awards attend the Stampede. Please know that we really hope to get back to our regular Stampede tradition, but we feel it is important for the time being to take some precautions.
As always, we appreciate your understanding and your support. We know we couldn’t do our best for your students without your support!
The schedule for stampede will be:
- K-2: 8:05am -8:35am
- 3-5: 8:50am-9:20am
You will be notified by your teacher if your Marshal is receiving an award for the monthly stampede and you are welcome to attend the stampede. We will continue to post our Stampedes to our facebook page for our families to view.

NEW September Breakfast Menu
NEW September Lunch Menu
McKinney ISD Menu Change
Due to manufacturer shortages and other instabilities in the supply chain, as well as a large increase in meal participation across the board at all schools, we’ve needed to alter the elementary menus to ensure we meet the demand of so many students. The most up-to-date menu information will always be available on our menu website at mckinney.schooldish.com, which updates hourly based on changes we are making continually as needs demand. Because we know many people would still like a paper copy, we are presently working on getting a downloadable printable paper menu posted on the same webpage.

WANT TO SUBSTITUTE TEACH?
McKinney ISD substitute teachers serve an essential role in our classrooms. They keep the learning moving forward when a teacher can not be in the classroom. At McClure, we are thankful for all of the substitutes that serve our Marshals.
If you have ever considered serving as a substitute, now is a great time to apply! We are looking for people who are committed to the students and families in our district. Substitutes in MISD can choose if they would like to work at only one level campus (elementary, middle, or high) or they can work at campuses across all levels.
Applications are processed on a continuing basis through the fall semester.
For details on the application process and to get started, please visit:
