Track 1: OPM2 Knowing My Words and Actions Affect Others
This week, students will be returning to develop a deeper understanding of the Other People Matter Mindset. Students will be discussing how their words and actions affect others.
"Words have energy and power with the ability to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate, and to humble." -Yehuda Berg
Tracks 3 and 4:
This week our students be learning about the character strength of Open Mindedness. AOpen-mindedness is the willingness to actively search for evidence that goes against one’s favored beliefs, plans, or goals. Our Cheetahs are learning so much through their P2 Lessons each day, be sure to ask your students about their favorite character strength!

Important: Voting Day Carpool Traffic Flow
- Please view the map below to see adjusted drop off and pick up boundaries for 3/3.
- Please follow the direction of school staff and pull all the way up to designated areas in order to unload/load as many vehicles as possible. Your students will adjust if they are not standing at the correct color for pick up.
- Please be aware of patrons crossing through the carpool loop to reach the polling location.
- Please remain vigilant during carpool and refrain from cellular device usage.
- Instruct students to enter the school building through the front entrance.
- If you are parking and bringing students in to school, please use the crosswalk highlighted in yellow on the picture.
- Due to increased coordination of students and staff, we will not be able to flex on our 3:30 pm check out policy. If you cannot be to school prior to 3:30 to check your students out, you will need to pick up through carpool.
Thank you for your help and patience in this matter.

Single Subject Acceleration Request Window
Students meeting qualifying criteria in grades K‐7 can take advanced academic content in mathematics or English Language Arts through Single Subject Acceleration (SSA). This ensures opportunities for appropriate levels of academic challenge. Only students who are currently enrolled and attending a WCPSS school during the open nomination and testing window are eligible to be considered for SSA.
Does My Child Qualify?
SSA allows students to show mastery of content in select elementary or middle school courses. Students who prove mastery do not have to take the course and may move on to the next level.
Parents or guardians may nominate their child to skip a grade level of content in either English Language Arts or mathematics.
Students will be assessed at their school based upon grade level. Depending on grade level and subject, this could include a multiple-choice test and/or a writing sample. Your school will have more specific information about this process once your child is nominated.
Assessment Requests, Testing Windows
You must submit an SSA assessment request form to your school during its specific calendar deadlines.
Deadlines for requesting an assessment for the 2020-21 school year are as follows:
Track 1: Feb 24-28
Tracks 2-4: Mar 23-27
