Semester 2
A message from Mrs Lale
Wow!!! What a fantastic year it has been. I am so proud to see all 5/6G students grow into strong and confident individuals. Semester two was a time for 5/6G to grow and build onto their confidence. It has been a pleasure working along side 5/6G. Good luck to my year 6 students moving onto the new chapter of their lives, I wish you all the best for high school. I hope you will cherish all the memories you have made at Fairvale Public School.
Another semester of dedication and hard work from 5/6G. Here are some of our WOW moments so far...
Literacy
This semester 5/6G have been looking closely into Greenpeace, a non-governmental organisation that helps protect and conserve our environment. Students have been researching facts about Greenpeace and using those facts to create sketchnotes, letters and posters. 5/6G students have also been busy writing letters to their penpals all the way up North to Manunda Primary School in Darwin, Northern Territory.
Numeracy
This semester 5/6G students have been participating in many hands on Math's activities. Students have enjoyed working in groups to find the volume and capacity of zip lock bags and containers. They were also very excited to create angles from masking tape and measure their angles. Just take a look at the photos below.
High School Transitions
During weeks 6-7 of term 4 all stage 3 students participated in high school transitions. Students were given the opportunity to go participate in various lessons similar to those in HS such as sewing, chemistry, food tech etc. 5/6G students enjoyed sewing with Mrs Lale. They were taught how to sew a Christmas stockings by using the technique of weaving. Have a look below at some of the awesome stockings that were created.
