Leaders of Learning
This week's nominees:
Sarah Brown: "I’d like to nominate Sarah Brown. I could overhear her through my wall when I was working on my bulletin board! She taught an attention signal (Mona Lisa: hands in lap, eyes on me), she explained what they needed to do to move up the clip chart to be a Super Star Art student, and she complimented students doing the right thing. Woo Hoo!"
Nicki Bauer: "I would like to nominate Nicki Bauer for her willingness to share teaching resources that she has worked tirelessly to locate & research."
Diann Fortune: "I would like to nominate Diann Fortune for her quick action in cleaning cafeteria tables for two very hungry kindergarten classes as they were also adjusting to the cafeteria."
Meeting Schedule
The schedule is as follows:
- 1st Wednesday--Committee meetings
- 2nd Wednesday--Staff meetings
- 3rd Wednesday--SIT meetings (free Wednesday for all other staff to be used for any additional meetings as needed)
- 4th Wednesday--Collaborative Team Meetings (PLC) This includes our grade level teams, our Specials team, our EC/Resource team and our Assistant PLC team. The Administrative team will take turns attending these meetings each week.
Also, the 1st Thursday of each month is considered Admin PLC day. The administrative team will define the agenda and faciliate those meetings each month. The 3rd Thursday of each month is Data PLC. The grade level/track teams will define the agenda and facilitate those meetings with a focus on student data and learning. The remaining two Thursdays of each month are open so the grade level/track teams will define the agendas for those meetings based on the needs expressed by the team members. A good rule of thumb to remember when defining your agendas? The conversations around the table should relate to learning and growth--either the learning and growth of the adults around the table or conversations regarding the learning and growth of our students. Dr. Mike Rutherford
In addition to the Coaching Laboratory, Dr. Rutherford will be meeting with me periodically throughout the year. MCS has contracted with him to be my Executive Coach this year and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work so closely with him! During his visits, we will also be visiting classrooms, so I wanted to give you a heads up. It is going to be a great year of learning for all of us as we benefit from Dr. Rutherford's vast knowledge of the powerful impact teachers have on student learning.

September 11: Marci and Jennifer present the School Improvement Plan to District Leaders--8:30-11:00
September 11: PLC Team meetings--Marci will be meeting with individual teachers to sign PDP (after returning from Carthage)

- YR--1st/2nd will grade math assessment; K will discuss how Intervention Block is going
September 12: Marci will be in Multipurpose room from 9:00-11:00 to sign PDPs with teachers who were not able to get it signed previously
