WAYS TO ADVOCATE:
As many of you know, we are at the start of a new legislative session and there are many ways to let our voices be heard! Here are some options:
Contact your local legislator and let them know we need a higher increase in the SSA (State Supplemental Aid for public education) than the proposed 2.5 percent! You can find your local representative HERE.
Contact Governor Reynold's office and the representatives on the Educational Policy Committee to voice your concerns and ask for an increase in funding! View the list of legislators on the committee and current bills HERE.
Attend the PTA meeting on February 18th at 6:30 pm to meet with the DMPS central office administrators, Jake Troja and Barry Jones. We will address behavior issues, special needs, resource allocation and more! Please send questions related to these issues to the PTA email: HanawaltElementaryPTA@gmail.com. This will allow Jake and Barry the opportunity to provide thoughtful answers.
Join other Hanawalt parents for CLAT (Coffee with Legislators) this Saturday at 9am! This will be held at Hoover High School.
