What's Going On In Raider Nation Vol. 2 Issue 2
We Must Represent Well!
As we continue in to the 2022-2023 school year, we must remember, no matter what, it's important to represent well.
This past Friday, our band sound great, our cheerleaders had an amazing performance, and our football team gave us an incredible game we can all applaud.
We have to take that same energy and manifest it in the classroom. Keep our kids engaged, challenge them, push them past their limits, and let them know they have to represent us well.
Raider Nation, I look forward to another championship week.
We have 4 district and school goals we will focus on.
- 80% of students in 9th grade will earn a passing grade in all their courses.
- Increase our percentage of College and Career Ready students by 5 percentage points.
- Increase our school graduation rate by 2 points.
- Improve EOCEP results for all courses and sub groups.
Featured Points To Focus On
- Develop rapport, build strong relationships, and set expectations for students.
- Stand at your door to encourage students to move swiftly to class.
- Take attendance every block and communicate to students the importance of being on time (Please check your email regarding attendance and allow time to teach our students expectations.)
- Submit your lesson plans to your Department Leader and Subject Administrator weekly.
- Make sure you communicate your standards, objectives, and agenda when teaching.
- Constantly check for understanding using different methods.
- Contact parents regarding attendance/ behavior/academic issues. Maintain a contact log, which will be turned in each Wednesday to your subject administrator.

A few Raider Reminders:
1. Be sure to stand at your door during each class transition and be proactive with safety.
2. Remember to balance your gradebook and know the overall effect of one zero.
3. You have the ability to impact a student’s life for years beyond your class time with them. Be conscious of each interaction.
4. Be intentional and set learning outcomes early for each student and class.
5. Be well and practice self-care. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
6. Reach out to parents ahead with a positive message to create a partnership.
7. Positivity is a choice.
8. Have fun!
I look forward to visiting your classrooms to connect with you & see great teaching and learning this year! Go Raiders!
