Updated COVID Guidelines and Protocols
As of August 10, 2021, the CDC identified Saratoga County as “High Risk” for community spread of the COVID-19 virus. Based on the recommendations of the CDC, Saratoga County Public Health Services, and our school physician, we have outlined some of the general components of our reopening plan to give families an understanding of what to expect this fall. The district will follow the guidelines outlined below while the region is in the “high” or “substantial” transmission levels. We will re-evaluate our protocols and communicate them with our families when the thresholds fall below these levels.
Health and Safety Requirements:
All individuals must wear an appropriate mask at all times while inside any of our buildings. Masks can be removed when individuals are eating or drinking
Masks are optional outside of buildings on school grounds
All staff and students utilizing district transportation must continue to wear masks at all times. To help reduce the population density on school buses, we encourage families who are able to walk students or drop them off whenever possible
Students and staff should continue to maintain 3-feet of physical distancing whenever possible
Families will need to remain mindful of their child's health and well-being. Please be sure to keep your child home if they show any signs or symptoms of COVID-19
All students are expected to attend school in-class every day
Virtual instruction will only be used for classroom quarantine or an entire district shut down. Students with a documented medical condition that inhibits them from attending school should contact their building administrator
Visitors will not be allowed on campus without prior approval
No indoor use of school facilities by outside groups
Vaccination is the leading public health prevention strategy to end the COVID-19 pandemic and is readily available through Saratoga County Public Health
Weekly Health Screenings
A weekly health screening reminder will be sent via blackboard on Sunday evenings
You are required to keep your student home from school if he/she is showing any signs or symptoms associated with COVID, including but not limited to: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
Please contact your student's building health office to report that you are keeping him/her home and we will instruct you on the next steps
If you have any questions, please reach out to Deborah O'Reilly at 654-9005 ext. 3445
